WWE has been on a bit slow decline since a mostly disappointing WrestleMania. Let’s see if they can regain the momentum they had and push forward into Money in the Bank with this broadcast of Raw.
Raw opens by burning things down. Rollins, Heyman, Breakker and Bronson Reed head down to the ring. The humanoids keep singing Seth’s theme long after the music had died down. There is some barking for Breakker. It doesn’t take long for the schizophrenic crowd to start cheering for CM Punk. Heyman explains that WWE was afraid of Reed which is why they didn’t book him against top tier talent. Reed did more damage to Rollins in one night than CM Punk and Roman Reigns did at WrestleMania.
The fans chant OTC! and “We want Roman!” when it is Rollins’ turn to talk. After singing his theme just minutes ago they then boo Rollins. Rollins says this group represents his vision and how he will secure control of the industry.
The crowd answers with: You sold out!
He answers: I sold out to who? Myself?
Netflix mutes out the “F–k you, Rollins.”
Rollins: Let me remind you that less than 15 minutes ago you were chanting my song!
No lies told. Their reactions just don’t make sense. They start cheering for CM Punk again.
“CM Punk found out what happens when you underestimate me,” says Rollins adding that he will qualify for MiB, he will win the contract and he will cash in whenever he wants.
Dragon Lee versus Chad Gable versus Penta – Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
Gable grabs Penta in an ankle lock on the apron. He then sends him head-first into the announce table. Gable and El Hijo del Vikingo start jawing as Vikingo is at ringside, for some reason. Lee comes flying at like 100 miles per hour out of the ring. Smashing right into Penta like a freaking missile. Gable dodges out of the way just in time.
“Holy shit!” yells McAfee.
Gable punks out Vikingo over the barricade. Gable heads to the top rope. Vikingo pulls him down and kicks him in the head. Lee gives Gable a double stomp from the top rope. Gable’s head is busted open. A Mexican Destroyer to Lee. A Penta Driver to Gable.
Winner: Penta
The Judgement Day are in their club house. Dom and Carlito are playing video games. Roxanne Perez is back with more chicken nuggets. Liv Morgan appears. Roxanne tries to introduce herself. Liv shushes her with one finger in her face. Dom welcomes Liv back. Liv says that Raquel Rodriguez has been keeping her up to date with what’s been happening back home since she has been away. Liv will address all of that once she has demanded a MiB qualifying match from Adam Pearce.
Rusev versus Akira Tozawa
Rusev destroys Tozawa in a few minutes but won’t break the Accolade. Sheamus comes out and confronts Rusev. Rusev backs off.
Winner: Rusev
Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura are interviewed by Cathy Kelley. I have no idea who these guys are. I will Google them. Oh, more podcasters. The Viking Raiders quickly make buddies with them in some goofy nonsense.
New Day (c) versus Creed Brothers versus War Raiders – WWE World Tag Team Titles
The New Day lull the Creed Brothers into thinking they are working with them until…they pull the tights and get the win. The flee like thieves in the night stealing another win.
Winners: New Day
Liv and Raquel run into Iyo and Kairi on the concourse. Liv warns Iyo she is headed to Pearce’s office to secure a MiB qualifying match. She will win the briefcase and she will cash in on Iyo. Kairi gets in Liv’s face. They agree to do battle tonight.
Our World Champ, Jey Uso wades through the crowd to the ring. He has something to say. Before he can get two words out Gunther interrupts. Gunther congratulates Jey on beating Logan Paul but he will strip him of the title in two week’s time. You see, Gunther was able to stay champion because all he cared about was himself. He didn’t get into other people’s business or other people’s feuds. Jey says he is fighting for more than himself. He is fighting for the people and that is why he will beat Gunther again.
Liv Morgan versus Kairi Sane
Roxanne Perez lends a hand by shoving Kairi off the top rope. Raquel bad mouths Perez. She wants to know what the heck she is doing? Liv attempts a Oblivion. Kairi rolls her up instead. Raquel comforts Liv in the ring as Perez shakes her head at ringside wondering what she did wrong, if anything.
Winner: Kairi Sane
Chad Gable rips into The Creed Brothers for their loss tonight. Gable would stay and chat but he needs to deliver a message from Grande Americano to Pearce. As he turns around he runs into Vikingo. The two cannot wait to tear each other at Worlds Collide. Vikingo walks away. When Gable turns around AJ Styles punches him in the face. There is more where that is coming from, he promises.
In the Judgement Day club house, Liv is fuming over her loss. Perez says she was just trying to help. Finn laughs and laughs at the chaos. Liv turns to Raquel and points the finger at her. “You are the veteran!” she says before storming off.
Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch traded more verbal barbs. Lyra says their rematch at Money in the Bank is personal.
Sami Zayn versus Seth Rollins versus Finn Bálor – Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifier
Balor misses his Coup de Grace. Rollins stomps Balor. Zayn hots the Helluva Kick on Rollins. Zayn goes for the pin. Bron pulls Zayn to the floor. Bronson and Bron pummel Zayn until Jey Uso appears of out of nowhere dishing out super kicks. Rollins grabs Uso from inside the ring. Uso punches him in the face. Bron spears Uso. Reed smashes Zayn into the steel post. Dominik Mysterio slides a chair to Balor. Balor has to crawl over to the chair. Rollins stomps Balor into the chair for the victory.
CM Punk’s music plays. Bronson and Bron ready themselves at the entrance way. Punk slips into the ring behind Rollins. Time for Rollins to Go to Sleep. Bron and Bronson rush back to the ring but Punk is long gone into the crowd.
Winner: Seth Rollins
